I graduated from school one day and went to Dallas the next. I couldn't find a job right away so I came back home and went to Business School in Texarkana. I went back to Dallas and got a job at Federal Reserve Bank. June of 1959 I cam home for the weekend and Herman Brown went back with me to look for a job. He lived with some boys from Arkansas and found a job at Sears. We started dating and July 1, 1960 we got married. I quit Federal Reserve Bank and went ot work for Oak Cliff Bank and Trust. We lived in Oak Cliff at that time. In 1962 we moved to Lancaster, Texas and bought our first home. December 31, 1963 our little bundle of joy was born, a little girl named Pamela Jean. In 1969 we moved to DeSoto, Texas so Pam could start to school. On July 1, 1985 Pam gave us a great 25th anniversary gift, a little grandson named Joshua Michael, our second bundle of joy. March 18, 1988 the third bunld of joy came, a little granddaughter named Lacie Renee. I retired from Bank of America, which had been Oak Cliff Bank and Trust, in January 1996 with 33 years of service. In May, 1996 we sold our home in DeSoto. We lived with our daughter's family until Herman could retire at the end of May with 37 years of service. We moved back to Arkansas and Herman built our home. It took us 14 months to finish. Pam and her family moved in July of 1996. The grandkids started showing cows, lambs, and goats in FFA. We traveled everywhere with them, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Kentucky. We joined two Good Sams travel clubs and we camp two weeks a month. We love to travel and go as much as we can. Herman and I have been married 47 years as of July1, 2007. |
